In Dead Space 3, Captain Robert Norton convinces Isaac by telling him that his ex-girlfriend, Ellie Langford, has gone missing while attempting to stop the Marker threat. This sets off a chain of events that leads Isaac to be tracked down by the last of EarthGov's agents and convinced into joining another suicide mission. Despite some issues with the story, Dead Space 3 is a great sequel to Isaac Clarke's odyssey.

The game takes place after the events of Dead Space 2, where Isaac Clarke is in hiding from those who seek the blueprints hidden in his mind that can be used to make Markers. These legendary alien artifacts are theorized to be the key to humanity's salvation and sacred objects to those who follow the faith known as Unitology.

While the story stumbles a few times, Dead Space 3 attempts to regain momentum by relying on its combat mechanics and decorated crafting system. The game offers new options that build on some of the same strengths of the franchise, adding new mechanics but not without falling short in others.
